In September 2009, St. Stephen’s Cathedral celebrated a milestone in its history. Over the weekend of September 26th and 27th, we were blessed to be able to celebrate our 35th Anniversary as a Parish. The celebration began with Vespers on Saturday evening to properly prepare for the Sunday Divine Liturgy. On Sunday we were blessed to have celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy presided by His Grace Bishop Tikhon. After Liturgy, our 35th Anniversary Banquet was held at the Radisson Hotel, in Trevose, PA. Despite the slightly inclement weather due to rain, there were 165 in attendance that joined us! We had a tremendous turnout and filled the banquet hall. We enjoyed a lovely dinner with music and dancing afterwards. Over 43 prizes were donated and given out to those in attendance; our Sunday School children were our very busy runners! There was also a children’s corner inside the banquet hall where chaperoned children could quietly play during the festivities.
It was a lovely afternoon of joy and thanksgiving, with several generations of Clergy, parishioners and friends sharing the day together. We thank God for all the blessings He has richly bestowed on our community of Orthodox Christians for these past thirty-five years.
